      Today Almaty Technological University (ATU) is one of the leading higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan with the richest experience and stable traditions of staff preparation for food and light industry of Kazakhstan and is famous far beyond the boundaries of the Republic.
Only half a century ago it was formed for the decision of the important problem of own staff training on the deficient technological specialties of food and light industry of the country based on enthusiasm, selflessness and devotion to matter of true professionals.
    Today the mission of ATU is, firstly, the preparation of intellectually and morally perfect specialists with higher professional and post institutional professional education for corresponding fields of scientific, industrial, managing and other practical activity and, secondly, the forming and professional making of high educated person who possesses wide fundamental knowledge, and is able to work in command and to inseparable self-education during all activity.
   The main problems of management of educational process in conditions of renewing system of education at our University are being solved, in the first instance, through the increase of competence and professionalism of trainer as the subject of management. Transition of ATU to the new model of university management system is just due to that, which is oriented to acknowledgement of its conformity to international level with a help of mechanism of certification of system of management quality of the university. The work just in this direction gives ATU the real opportunity to solve the questions of improving the quality of specialists’ preparation with a perspective to future.
