On September 1996 new subdivision - editorial publishing department (EPD) was formed in ATU, and the collective of it at that time decided the supreme problems, such as editing of author original, correction of materials, replication of education-methodic relieves in small volumes. From the moment of organization of the department till 1998 the candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Zhaksylykova Gulshat Nurmahambetovna headed EPD. Since that time the staff of EPD has been increased considerably. At present time it includes editors, designers, typesetters, engineers and Tusupova Zhibek Maksutovna supervises over the department.
The certificate about registration of a magazine “Food technology and service” in mass communication media, which have been given on September of the same year, gave an opportunity of publishing of scientific publications of the University’s members, and also author articles of specialists of other institutions, enterprises of food industry and organizations of Kazakhstan and foreign countries. Publications of the main scientific works in the magazine “Food technology and service”, which is a part of List of editions, recommended by SAC, are of great importance with account of ATU profile. The main thematic direction of the magazine is interpretation of actual problems in the field of creation innovation technologies and new equipment for light and food industry, researches in the field of economy and education. Development of the University, opening of new specialties and college served as the cause of increasing of education and methodic relief volume as in Kazakh, so in Russian languages. This led to the necessity of increasing of power and technical capability of EPD.
Since 2001 monthly “Information bulletin of ATU» on priority directions of the University activity is published, which contains bibliographical information about publications in periodic publications of the Republic of Kazakhstan and countries of CIS and far abroad, information about international projects, programs, funds, grants, forthcoming international symposiums, conferences and exhibitions. The University made an agreement about cooperation with NCSTI RK and Republican scientific technical library, and that allowed to wide audience of readers – scientists, teachers, aspirants, masters, students, to get necessary information and literature in good time.
Members and students of ATU hear about news of the University life from a paper “Technologist”, which is monthly published by the editorial publishing department. Publishing department realizes typographical provision of all events of ATU, including publication of materials of scientific practical conferences. Perspectives of increasing of a sphere of services and general volume of published products at its invariably high quality require permanent improving of technical capabilities of EPD. For today the publishing department has the modern technical base, which is necessary for edition of textbooks and education methodic complexes at high polygraphic level.
