Design
Technology of textile production
Technology, constructing of items and goods
The faculty carries out preparation of certificated experts on the following specialties:
- 050726 - Technology and designing of light industry products (on branches);
- 050733 - Technology and designing of textile materials (on branches);
- 050421 - Design (on branches).
The objects of professional work at the faculty are garments from fabric, jersey, textile materials, skin, fur etc., technological processes and the equipment of sewing manufacture, qualitative and quantitative examination of textile and light industry goods and products; estimation of service quality, model sketches, drawings
Direction of scientific activity:
• Theoretical and methodological principles of modern clothes designing on the basis of a traditional Kazakh suit;
• Scientific bases of special clothes designing for workers of the oil, metallurgical, metal cutting and chemical industries;
• Creation of new multifunctional polymers and highly effective and biologically active connections and their use in the light industry;
• Working out of technology of textile products processing with application of water-soluble polymers;
• Research of processing of worsted woolen yarn of a domestic production of different structural characteristics for jersey.
• Introduction of innovative methods of clothes manufacturing technology at the enterprises of small and average business.
Scientific centre: Scientific research institute of light industry was created on the basis of the faculty which is headed by Dzhingilbayev S.S.
Practice and employment of graduates: Professional practice of students is held at such enterprises, as «Almaty Cotton Paint», «Kazakhstan Textiline», Almaty carpet factory, "Asutor", sewing firm "Kyz-Zhibek", garment factory "Voshod", fashion salons of Almaty, etc
International contacts: The faculty develops the international, scientific and creative relations with such large educational and scientific centers of our republic and other states as: University of Pennsylvania (USA); Andon university (South Korea); Moscow State University after A.I.Kosygin; Moscow state university of design and technology; St.-Petersburg state university of technology and design, Novosibirsk institute of technology, Tashkent technological institute of light industry.
